Chapter 7

1. Daniel's Dream of 4 Beasts
1. 1st year of Belshazzar - Daniel had a dream
2. visions passed through his mind while in bed
3. He wrote down the substance of his dream
4. Daniel said
1. I saw the 4 winds of heaven churning up the great sea
2. 4 great beasts
1. each different from the other
2. came up out of the sea
5. The 1st Beast
1. like a lion
2. had wings of an eagle
3. Daniel watched until its wings were torn off
4. It was lifted from the ground so that it stood on 2 feet like a human
5. the mind of a human was given to it.
6. The 2nd Beast
1. looked like a bear
2. raised up on side of its sides
3. it had 3 ribs in its mouth - between its teeth
4. It was told "get up and eat your fill of flesh"
7. Another Beast
1. looked like a leopard
2. 4 wings on its back like a bird
3. had 4 heads
4. it was given authority to rule
8. The 4th Beast
1. a terrifying, frightening and very powerful beast
2. large iron teeth
3. it crushed & devoured its victims 
4. it trampled underfoot whatever was left
5. it was different from all the former beasts
6. it had 10 horns
9. Another Horn 
1. while Daniel was thinking about the 10 horns another horn stood before him
2. a little one - which came up among them
3. It uprooted the first 3 horns
4. had eyes like a human 
5. had a mouth that spoke boastfully
10. Daniel looked and
1. thrones were set in place
2. the Ancient of Days took his seat
1. his clothing was white as snow
2. Hair was white like wool
3. the throne was flaming with fire
1. its wheels were all ablaze
2. a river of fire flowing out from before him
4. thousands upon thousands attended him
5. ten thousand X ten thousand stood before him
3. The Court was seated and the books were open
11. Daniel continued to watch...
1. the boastful words of the horn was speaking
12. Daniel kept looking
1. the beast was slain
1. it's body destroyed & thrown in the blazing fire
2. the other beasts had been stripped of authority
1. but were allowed to live for a period of time
13. Daniel looked
1. before him was one like a son of man
1. coming with the clouds of heaven
2. approached the Ancient of Days
1. and led into his presence
3. Was given authority, glory & sovereign power
4. All nations & peoples worshipped him
5. His dominion is an everlasting dominion 
6. his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed
14. Note when Daniel looked - each time it mentions his "vision at night"
2. The Interpretation of the dream
1. Daniel
1. was troubled in spirit
2. the vision disturbed him
3. He asked one of those standing what the meaning of all this was.
2. the one standing there gave the interpretation
1. the 4 great beasts are the 4 kings that will rise from the earth
2. but the holy people of the Most High will receive the kingdom and posses it forever and ever.
3. Daniel asked the meaning of the 4th beast
1. different from all others
2. most terrifying
3. its iron teeth and bronze claws
4. it crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot remains
4. Daniel asked the meaning of the 10 horns on its head & the horn that came up
1. before which 3 fell
2. the horn that looked more imposing than the others
3. it had eyes and a mouth that spoke boastfully
4. As Daniel watched this horn was waging war against the holy people 
1. It was defeating them
2. until the Ancient of Days pronounced judgement in favor of the holy people
3. and the time came when they possessed the kingdom
5. the one gave him this explanation
1. The 4th beast is a 4th kingdom
1. that will appear on earth
2. it will be different from all other kingdoms
3. it will devour the whole earth
4. it will trample it down and crush it
2. The 10 horns are the 10 kings
1. who will come from this kingdom
3. after them another king will rise
1. different from the earlier ones
2. he will subdue 3 kings
3. He will speak against the Most High
4. He will oppress his holy people
5. He will try to change the set times and the laws
6. the holy people will be delivered into his hands
1. for a time, times and half a time
7. but the court will sit and his power will be taken away
1. completely
2. destroyed forever
4. Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be handed over to the holy people of the Most High.
1. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom
2. All rulers will worship & obey him
5. This is the end of the matter
6. Daniel
1. was deeply troubled by his thoughts
2. his face turned pale
3. but he kept the matter to himself.
