 Daniel 10 Outline

1. Daniel's Vision of a Man
1. In 3rd year of Cyrus King of Persia
2. Daniel had a revelation
1. its message was true
2. it concerned a great war
3. understanding of the message came to him in a vision
3. Daniel was called Belteshazzar
4. Daniel mourned for 3 weeks
1. he ate
1. no choice food
2. no meat
3. no wine
4. and used no lotions
5. On 24th Day of 1st Month - while standing on bank of Tigris River
1. Daniel looked up and saw a man
1. dressed in linen
2. with belt of fine gold from uphaz around his waist
3. boy was like topaz
4. face like lightning
5. eyes like flaming torches
6. arms & legs like gleam of burnished bronze
7. voice like sound of a multitude
2. Daniel was only one who saw the vision
1. those around him did NOT see it but were overwhelmed, fled & hid
2. Daniel 
1. was alone - gazing at this great vision
2. He had no strength left
3. his face turned deathly pale
4. he was helpless
5. heard him speak & listened
6. fell into deep sleep - his face to the ground
7. A hand touched him and set him trembling on his hands & knees
3. He said to Daniel
1. You are highly esteemed
2. consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you
3. stand up
4. I have been sent to you
4. Daniel stood up trembling
5. He Continued talking to Daniel
1. Do not be afraid
2. "Since the 1st day you set your mind to gain understanding and humble yourself before God, your words were heard and I have come to respond to them."
3. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me 21 days
4. Then Michael came to help me
1. one of the chief princes
2. helped me because I was detained with king of Persia
5. Now I have come
1. to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future
2. for the vision concerns a time yet to come
6. Daniel
1. while he was talking, Daniel bowed his face to the ground and was speechless
2. The one who looked like a man
1. touched Daniels lips and he opened his mouth and spoke
1. "I am overcome w anguish because of the vision"
2. I feel weak
3. How can I, your servant, talk with you my lord?
4. My strength is gone
5. I can hardly speak
6. (this seems like he is talking to Jesus)
7. The one who looked like a man
1. touched Daniel and gave him strength
2. Said do not be afraid - you who are highly esteemed
3. peace
4. be strong now
5. be strong
8. Daniel
1. When he spoke tome I was strengthened and
2. said speak Lord, since you have given me strength
9. The one who looked like a man said
1. Do you know why I have come to you?
2. soon I will return to fight against the  prince of Persia
3. When I go, the prince of Greece will come
4. but first - I will tell you what is written in the Book of Truth
5. No one supports me against them except Michael, your prince.
